SATTE, South Asia’s leading B2B travel trade show, is all set to kickstart its 24th edition. The show, to be held from February 15-17, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, expects to surpass its last visitor numbers of 21,000+ across three days. This year the exhibition will be spread over 17,500 sqm gross, thus making it India’s biggest travel and tourism event, and expects to feature over 850+ exhibitors and the representation of over 50 countries.
Speaking about the growth of the exhibition over the years and this year’s latest developments, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, “SATTE has now become an institution and has evolved as a truly global exhibition in this part of the world. In spite of worldwide uncertainties this year, it stands taller than ever before. SATTE has an expected turnout of over 20,000 qualified travel professionals -- each visiting the expo with a high expectancy from the event and its innovative, solution-driven features like the knowledge seminars, product launches and a grand Awards Night that is set to celebrate excellence and innovation within the industry.”
UBM India, the organisers of SATTE is all set to introduce SATTE Awards. The glittering evening affair will be held at the Le Meridien, Delhi on February 14, 2017. The awards will be an annual event to recognise the contribution of key stakeholders in the travel and tourism industry.
This year SATTE will have an array of State Tourism Boards with many of them increasing their presence at the 2017 edition of SATTE. So far, Gujarat, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have confirmed their participation. Moreover, the eight North Eastern states will participate under the Incredible India Pavilion of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. States such as Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Odisha,Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Punjab, Karnataka, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Jharkhand amongst others are in the process of finalising their participation for SATTE 2017.
Foreign Tourism Boards such as Brand USA, Mexico, Peru, Czech Republic, Spain, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Israel, Thailand, Indonesia, Macau, Fiji, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, New Zealand, Reunion Island and Egypt amongst others have confirmed their participation too. Turkey, Vietnam and Maldives are all set to confirm their participation soon. So far, Dubai, Sri Lanka and Thailand are partner countries for SATTE 2017.
SATTE 2017 is also witnessing an increase in participation from hospitality players. Groups such as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, ITDC, Sterling Resorts, Dubai Parks & Resorts, Movenpick Hotel & Resorts, Minor Hotels, Melia Hotels International, ONYX Hospitality Group, Ramee Group of Hotels, Shangri -La Hotels and Resorts, Venetian Cotai and many more are participating at SATTE 2017. Few more hotel chains are expected to join the mega event.
One of the key features of SATTE 2017 will be the conference programme on February 15 and 16 that promises industry discussions and sharing of new insights pertaining to the sector and industry best practices. Moreover, SATTE will host six panel discussions that will bring together stakeholders of the industry on a single platform, allowing exchange of ideas that will add value to Indian tourism at large.
